RJM Events to Host 5th Annual MLK Jr.
Boys Basketball Tournament
RJM Sporting & Events, Inc. presents its 5th annual Martin Luther King Jr. Classic boy’s basketball tournament on January 7-8, 2005. The tournament will be held at William M. Raines High School in Jacksonville, Fl.
The tournament is designed to bring exposure to Florida’s top boy’s basketball program, by paring Jacksonville’s local high school team against high school teams from the Southeast region. Participating high schools from Jacksonville include: William M. Raines, Jean Ribault, Andrew Jackson, Orange Park, Englewood, First Coast, and Arlington Country Day school. In addition, the tournament will host other talent from Pendleton School, Bradenton, Fl; Dwyer High, Palm Beach Gardens, Fl; Boyd Anderson, Ft. Lauderdale, Fl; Deland High, Deland Fl; Savannah Beach High, Savannah, Ga; Winter Park High, Winter Park Fl; Orlando Jones High, Orlando Fl; and Gateway High, Kissimmee, FL.
“The event will showcase athletic competition from some of Florida’s nationally ranked basketball players,: said Ron Etheridge, tournament director. “This year, we’ve paired players like Keith Brumbaugh against Ryan Reid, who are both ranked in the top 100 players in the nation. Anyone attending will be sure to enjoy the show.:
The tournament will also showcase one of Jacksonville’s most well awaited match-ups when William M. Raines High School plays Jacksonville Arlington Country Day. This match-up will set the stage for talent like Raines’ starters Derwin Kitchen, Juwann James and London Warren and ACDS’ David Huertas, Josue Soto, and Sammy Hernandez. In addition, there will be a rematch of Jean Ribault High against Orlando Jones High. Other nationally ranked players will include: Gabriel Charley, Jeremiah Rivers, and Raymond Sykes. Tickets are $6.00 and will be sold the day of the game at Raines High School.

7:30 p.m. Jacksonville Ribault vs. Palm Beach Dwyer
9:00 p.m. Jacksonville Raines vs. Bradenton, Fl Pendleton School

12:00 p.m. Orange Park vs. Savannah Beach
1:30 p.m. Jacksonville Englewood vs. Kissimmee Gateway
3:00 p.m. Deland vs. Ft. Lauderdale Boyd Anderson

6:00 p.m. Jacksonville Ribault vs. Orlando Jones
7:30 p.m. Jacksonville Raines vs. Jacksonville Arlington Country Day
