IMG Academy Takes 5th Place in City of Palms Classic

The IMG Ascenders of Bradenton FL met up with Olive Branch Conquistadors of Olive Branch MS Saturday 12/22/18 in the battle for Fifth Place in the City of Palms Classic Basketball Tournament. Olive Branch took an early lead led by top prospect D.J. Jefferies. The Ascender’s responded and took the lead by the end of the 1st half with a score of 43 -33. The Ascenders were led by Josh Green who ended the half with 16 points and Jaden Springer who ended the half with 14 points.

The Ascenders continued to expand their lead with sensational transition play, however they were impacted by numerous fouls, which kept the Conquistadors in the game; Olive Branch finished the game18 for 22 on free throws. IMG was able to contain D.J. Jefferies who led his team in scoring and finished 

the game with 28 points. The Ascenders at the 2 minute mark pulled the starters with a score of 87 to 63. IMG defeated Olive Branch with a final score of 93 to 63. IMG was led by Josh Green who led all scorers with 32 points, Jaden Springer with 22 points and Jerem Robinson-Earl added another 17 points in the win over Olive Branch. Although IMG entered the tournament highly favored by some, IMG took

home 5th Place in the City of Palm Classic.
